Why Trust the Catholic Church (in Good Times and in Bad)?

In this clip from EWTN's Father Spitzer's Universe, Father receives the question, how can I regain my trust in the Catholic Church in light of recent scandals?

Father answers the question first by saying what we know we can believe within the Catholic Church (e.g., doctrines that are guaranteed to be infallible). Ultimately, he explains that it is not the who we trust, but the what we trust.
